Objenious and ANEP anticipate the end of PSTN with a unique technological solution for French industrial players

Paris, March 10, 2022 – In a constantly evolving telecommunications technology landscape, ANEP is offering a simple, cost-effective, and sustainable technological innovation to address the planned end of the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network), with the support and expertise of Objenious, Bouygues Telecom’s IoT brand.

A unique and innovative solution

The technological partnership between Objenious and ANEP, a French SME specializing in telemonitoring and tele-alarm systems for connected buildings, provides a unique digital migration solution. With this approved gateway that transforms analog signals into cellular IoT, Objenious and ANEP offer a fast and efficient digital transformation of existing equipment.

The gateway created by ANEP is based on VoLTE (Voice over LTE: voice over 4G network) technology, a service that allows calls to be made and received through the 4G network. Objenious is the very first actor to offer a VoLTE solution for IoT needs, which is unique and innovative for sustaining existing equipment.

Thanks to this technological partnership with Objenious, ANEP anticipates market changes by offering a sustainable solution to equipment concerned, such as tele-alarm boxes in elevators, which still operate with analog telephone lines (RTC).

The genesis of the partnership

Specialized since its creation in telemonitoring and tele-alarm systems, ANEP operates in different sectors related to connected buildings, such as elevators, where the company is a leader in the French and Benelux markets, and one of the leaders in Europe.

Vincent Brémond, Sales Director of ANEP, explains: “The end of analog lines has led us to find a cost-effective and sustainable technological migration solution for our customers. This solution, highly anticipated on the market, is a gateway that converts analog signals to the digital 4G cellular network. This is the first digital gateway based on Bouygues Telecom’s VoLTE network, made possible by its engineers’ approval at the end of 2021.

This 4G VoLTE gateway benefits elevator installers and many other industries without replacing existing equipment, which represents a considerable time and financial gain!”

The partnership between ANEP, which supplies this gateway, and Objenious, offers an ideal solution to all industrial actors who can benefit from this digital migration for their communicating equipment.

Economy and quality of service

The technological solution developed by ANEP is perfectly suited to the dedicated uses of telemonitoring, tele-reading, industrial telemaintenance, vending machines, parking payment automatic devices, emergency call terminals, remote rescue stations, tolls…

Thanks to this VoLTE gateway, older communication equipment that previously operated on analog lines will continue to work while taking advantage of the latest 4G and 5G networks, adapting to ongoing digital changes.

This alternative to complete equipment replacement represents considerable savings for companies and also provides superior quality of service. VoLTE, offered by Objenious, also enables voice transport in 4G with optimal sound quality, prioritizing it over IoT data streams.

“We are very happy to contribute to an optimal and unique solution intended in particular for elevator installers. VoLTE ideally meets their needs: essential service quality for the proper functioning of equipment, prioritization of flows for emergency calls, and no interruption of other ongoing IoT applications,” says Bernardo Cabrera, Director of Objenious
