Objenious launches new digital offers to explore NB-IoT, LTE-M, and 4G networks

28 June 2024
To support the development of IoT projects, Objenious offers the opportunity to test NB-IoT and LTE-M networks and their LPWA features, as well as its 4G cellular network on a national scale for one year.

Paris, November 8, 2022 – On the occasion of SIDO Paris, a professional innovation fair taking place on November 8 and 9, Objenious, the IoT Business Unit of Bouygues Telecom, announces the launch of its new digital offerings, Explore NB-IoT and Start LTE-M IoT 4G, over the LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) capabilities of NB-IoT and LTE-M.

Explore NB-IoT, a blend of flexibility and innovation

The Explore NB-IoT offer provides an opportunity to discover the cellular NB-IoT network for 1 year, with unlimited data. NB-IoT, a LPWA network, is bidirectional and ideal for sending short messages. Its long-range coverage allows for efficiently reaching devices in hard-to-access environments, with obstacles in so-called “deep indoor” locations, such as indoors and underground. It is known for its energy efficiency with hibernation (PSM) and half-sleep (eDRX) features, which are essential for optimizing maintenance costs and ensuring the longevity of the device’s battery.

The NB-IoT network can easily support Smart Metering and cater to Smart City and Smart Building requirements, facilitating energy efficiency management and tracking, among other applications. From the geolocation of equipment to motion and shock detection for industry, or environmental data alerts (CO2, humidity, temperature), NB-IoT use cases are multiple.

Start LTE-M IoT 4G, combining performance with longevity

The Start LTE-M IoT 4G offer allows for testing current use cases on LTE-M or 4G networks with 1GB of data for 1 year. LTE-M is a Swiss Army knife of IoT and represents the perfect compromise between performance, cost, and longevity. From smart lighting to connected transportation, logistics, energy management, electric charging stations, and e-Health, LTE-M meets a wide variety of use cases. The hibernation (PSM) mode allows devices to go dormant, an essential feature for certain applications providing very long periods of autonomy to save battery, extending its lifespan up to 10 years.

LTE-M is the high-bandwidth LPWA technology, capable of maintaining a high-performance connection even at speeds over 100km/h. LTE-M is naturally the go-to technology for IoT projects that require a balance between performance, longevity, and device cost.

A facilitator of innovation and in the ecosystem for clients

Clients can quickly subscribe to digital offers online through the objenious.com website and gain access to the dedicated Getway platform for managing cellular IoT fleets. A SIM card can be received in 3 days, enabling clients to quickly test and deploy their solutions or innovations. Once a project reaches maturity with a fleet of 1,000 lines, Objenious can offer a tailored solution for mass deployment, on a national or international scale.

“LTE-M and NB-IoT are increasingly establishing themselves in the IoT technology landscape and are expected to represent 50% of new connections by 2024. Bouygues Telecom’s deployment pace is aligned with the goal of national coverage in 2022,” comments Bernardo Cabrera, Director of the Objenious Business Unit. “These new offerings demonstrate our commitment to being an innovation facilitator in the ecosystem for our clients and to becoming a multi-technology operator, with each network’s performance serving the entirety of client connectivity projects.”
