Connected Tools at the Service of Mobility
The TruckBox developed by Truckonline is a “black box” connected 24/7 to the company’s servers across Europe. Installed on all types of vehicles, from heavy goods vehicles to passenger cars, as well as construction machinery and barges, this device collects and transmits data to the servers in real-time: geographical position, technical vehicle data, and driver social data. Simple and ergonomic, this solution offers a true gain in time and money on a daily basis.
Indeed, this connected tool simplifies the daily life of transporters with a concrete impact: on average, it enables savings of 1000 euros per month per vehicle-driver pair. Management is simple, from a dashboard that allows tracking of the driver’s activities. Average speed, location, distance covered, eco-driving: everything is recorded to ensure everyone’s safety and compliance with transport legislation.
Beyond data collection, the TruckBox ensures the reliability of data and the security of communications, so that only the owner can access it. Operating at 24 volts, the device has no constraints related to its power supply: however, there is a real need for real-time monitoring.
To meet all these challenges of performance, reliability, and security, and to ensure a high level of quality service, Truckonline partnered with Objenious for the development of its solution.
Objenious expertise at the service of innovation
Objenious accompanied Truckonline from start to finish with concrete solutions, from the testing phase to the deployment of the solution, both in France and internationally. This support notably translated into transitioning Truckonline’s solution to 4G in anticipation of the discontinuation of 2G technologies at the end of 2026 and 3G technologies by the end of 2028, according to the dates set by Bouygues Telecom. This adaptation was necessary for Truckonline to adjust to the phase-out of these technologies on a European scale and to allow all trucks to transit internationally smoothly.
Initiated early, this transition allowed the company to approach this turning point with confidence and to be a pioneer among players offering this type of solution in 4G, while also introducing new services. This provides a true competitive advantage.
The quality 4G network offered by Objenious ensures robust communications without the need for repetition. The multi-operator system plus roaming provides nearly 100% coverage throughout Europe, with seamless border transitions for users. Moreover, the performance of 4G compared to 2G is significantly superior in terms of speed, enabling almost instantaneous remote updates of the devices.
Truckonline has thus been able to harness the best of technology to collect and transmit more precise, robust, and frequent data. The result: a more efficient and safer TruckBox, with an enriched fleet geolocation service. And the guarantee of receiving quality support, with quick and effective responses, no matter the issues encountered.
Today, Objenious continues to provide advice to Truckonline on emerging and innovative technologies such as eSIM or satellite IoT to continue improving their tool. A comprehensive partnership that makes a difference, both now and in the future.
