Objenious Launches the IoT Challenge to Reinvent the World of Tomorrow

3 July 2024
Paris, September 23, 2020 – Objenious, the Bouygues Telecom brand dedicated to the Internet of Things, announces the opening of applications for the IoT Challenge. Sponsored by Microsoft, STMicroelectronics, BearingPoint, and the Innovation Division of the Bouygues Group, this competition is open to startups as well as companies that are already developing or marketing their connected solution or product. Candidates have until October 31 to present a solution that facilitates the resumption of activities or reinvents our ways of operating, in response to current challenges.

Convinced that connected devices can provide solutions to the new constraints faced by businesses, communities, and individuals, Objenious is opening applications for the IoT Challenge.

This competition is open to any startup or company operating in France that develops or markets a connected solution or product using technologies such as LoRa, 2G, 3G, 4G, or LTEM. These must contribute to optimizing new habits across various sectors (E-health, Smart Building, Mobility, Social Bonding, Transport, Hygiene, Industry, City Services, Logistics/Maintenance, etc.). The candidates thus improve daily life, both in the private sphere and within a professional environment, in the way processes and services of organizations are offered or delivered.

The 10 preselected participants will present their candidacy before a jury composed of Objenious experts and representatives of the competition sponsors: Microsoft, BearingPoint, STMicroelectronics, and the Innovation Division of Bouygues Group.

Two awards will be given in mid-December.

The Expert category will distinguish a connected solution or product that has been launched within the past two years. The winner will receive:

  • Visibility for their solution provided by Objenious and the sponsors
  • A one-day ideation workshop on a selected issue with an expert from Objenious, Microsoft, BearingPoint, STMicroelectronics, and the Innovation Division of Bouygues SA
  • Support during the first year by a BearingPoint IoT telecoms expert at a rate of one half-day per month
  • Listing of their solution with Objenious

The Hope category will reward a connected solution or product that is in development.

The winner will be allocated:

  • Visibility for the solution through Objenious and the sponsors
  • For one year: connectivity offered for the first 500 connected devices (Objenious Starter LoRa or Evolutive World M2M offer*) and unlimited access to Objenious’s IoT platforms
  • Up to 5 development subsystems based on STM32 microcontrollers with sensor and/or connectivity expansion cards, depending on the needs of the winner, to enable the implementation of an industrial-scale solution based on STMicroelectronics products
  • Privileged access to a contact within STMicroelectronics’ sales teams
  • €2000 in Azure setup credits providing access to cloud services via the Azure portal
  • Listing of the solution in the Objenious and BearingPoint catalog

(*) For one year, 1GB free Europe per month on all Objenious 2G, 3G, 4G, and LTEM technologies (beyond which a reduced rate of 64kb/s is applied)

As indicated by Bernardo Cabrera, Director of Objenious by Bouygues Telecom: “Feedback from our clients and the growth of our partners show that connected objects are a major link in the ongoing digital transformation in businesses. IoT is a way to evolve and boost business. Connected objects will continue to assert themselves in our daily landscape, whether at the workplace, in homes, or in transport by providing more responsiveness and fluidity. With this IoT Challenge, we aim to support innovation in this key sector and to highlight increasingly efficient solutions and products that help reinvent our ways of operating.”

“Innovation is part of the DNA of the Bouygues Group. We are delighted to support the initiative of Objenious in this IoT Challenge that illustrates the necessary dynamics to build the world of tomorrow and highlights the creativity and innovation capacity of French companies.”, declares Christophe Lienard, Director of Innovation at Bouygues SA.

Applications are open from September 24 to October 31.
